ID LAB developed a signage package for the $200 million South Australian Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) headquarters. The dynamic SAHMRI façade consists of a triangular grid made of glass and steel designed for optimal light and natural ventilation.

To ensure the signage integrated seamlessly with the architecture, ID LAB collaborated closely with architects and interior designers from Woods Bagot.  For the exterior sign elements, a sculptural expression reflecting the building’s footprint was chosen, which ID LAB then clustered to create a landmark that identifies the path to the main entrance. In the interior, strong colour, integrated elements and clever window graphics incorporate with the architecture to the extent that the signage looks and feels as if it is the work of the architects.

The collaboration on this project produced an innovative and highly aesthetic outcome which demonstrates how ID LAB’s early engagement within a project ensures the most successful results.
