The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is an arm of the European Union (EU) responsible for evaluating and overseeing pharmaceutical products.

As a direct result of the UK's departure from the European Union in 2020, the EMA relocated from London to its new headquarters in Amsterdam. MVSA partnered with architect Fokke van Dijk from the Central Government Real Estate Agency (CGREA) to meet this time-sensitive challenge. The remarkable EMA tower, standing at 81 meters tall, swiftly took shape in Amsterdam's thriving Zuidas business district.

In just six weeks, ID-LAB was tasked with planning, designing, and documenting the wayfinding and signage for this project. Despite the tight deadline, we delivered results that embody our core values: a harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality.

Our approach reflects a minimalist style, in line with Dutch design traditions, featuring streamlined wayfinding information and elegantly integrated floor numbers on timber slat walls near the elevators.
