ID LAB was tasked with developing the wayfinding strategy for the $447 million Box Hill Hospital project. The strategy not only provides wayfinding solutions for the new building, but also a uniform solution for the existing one. To ensure the needs of the hospital as a whole were met, ID LAB conducted extensive workshops to gain operational knowledge, resulting in a customised strategy.

A unique signage system was designed in collaboration with the interior design team from Silver Thomas Hanley.  Environmental graphics play a key role in providing directional cues along the user’s journey. By adopting the leaf motif from the hospital’s logo, ID LAB was able to introduce a light-hearted element, which represents nature and reinforces continuity.
